The Weekly Canvas – Modeotec

Behind every finished artwork lies a journey of experimentation, craftsmanship, and conviction, and Modeotec’s work with PCB boards is an excellent case in point. The descriptions below are in his words.

1. The Proof-Of-Work Card (P). Everything divided by SHA-256. Energy. Time. Truth

2. The Nodes Card (N). Bitcoin is a decentralized System. Signal. Voice. Guard.

3. The Cryptography Card (C). ECDSA is for Freedom. Math. Code. Secret.

4. The Duality Card (D). Private Key/Public Key System. Key. Identitiy. Freedom.

A typical Modeotec artwork – etched Gold and printed patterns. There are hidden messages in Morse alphabet and binary code.”

Bitcoin Tree White Paper

Bitcoin Tree White Paper

22K Gold on blacked fiberglas core (PCB)
21.5" x 25.2"

“The Bitcoin Tree White Paper artwork features a tree embedded in the background, composed of intricate circuit traces. This tree symbolizes Bitcoin as a grassroots movement, rooted in decentralization, while also highlighting its digital foundation. The circuit traces not only represent the technological aspect of Bitcoin but also serve as a visual metaphor for the interconnected ideas and principles outlined in the whitepaper, emphasizing how these concepts are supported and brought to life by the network’s infrastructure. The whitepaper itself, a groundbreaking scientific work by Satoshi Nakamoto, is central to the piece, reflecting the philosophical and technological brilliance that sparked a global movement.”

Bitcoin White Paper Tree – Black PCB, Red backlight

“The PCB traces are made of copper and shine through the substrate (fiberglass core) when backlit. I built a box to make the backlight shine evenly… Bitcoin is solid and simple and it should stay that way. It doesn’t need any distracting frequencies. The idea: The backlight creates a second image. The idea "behind" it: Bitcoin is a grassroots movement, growing like a tree, small and delicate at first, just like on October 31, 2008, when Satoshi Nakamoto published the Whitepaper. Through the use of Bitcoin as software, the movement grew- branches formed, and the trunk became thicker and stronger. Bitcoin is far from fully grown, it lives within us: in people, in nodes, in miners, and everywhere that censorship-resistant money, decentralization, and scarcity matter.”

Tears from the Mempool

Tears from the Mempool

“These tears fell at the exact moment Hal Finney passed away, August 28, 2014. A pioneer, a visionary, and the receiver of the very first Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi. Driven by a deep vision to make human life better, his story embodies the ultimate intersection of human vulnerability and immutable logic. While Hal’s physical body faded, the code he helped cultivate remained absolute, unfazed, and perpetual. His passing reminds us that behind every deterministic protocol, there is a human heart, sacrifice, and the desire for a better world.

I’m currently experimenting with solder, a material that literally holds your digital life together. It enables you to use your computer, run your bitcoin node … , and maintain your sovereignty. It physically connects your life to the digital world.

I crafted this physical mempool piece back in 2025, together with Asanoha. Thank you Mempool and Wiz for using the visualization.”

Mnemonic Geometry

Mnemonic Geometry

PCB (printed circuit board), 22K Gold, blacked Fiberglass Core. Lamp: 230V, EU-Plug Solid stand.
35cm x 50cm

“The complete BIP39 list, all 2048 words – unfolds in a spiral, as if language itself were tightening into a singular idea. At the center rests a geometric figure, a quiet core of order. Throughout, the number 12 appears again and again, a cosmic reminder that freedom, security, and identity are built upon repeating patterns.
With a backlight, the truth shines through the board, and you see it the moment you switch on the light, just as you reveal it when you activate the Bitcoin protocol.”
