Eyes on Prize by BTCMonk

Eyes on Prize is an authentic one-of-a-kind handmade piece symbolizing a very special moment in Bitcoin history as an unprecedented amount of attention is drawn to it. People from all echelons are seeking out Bitcoin: working people, bankers, politicians, entrepreneurs, everyone wants a piece of it!

This artwork was created on plywood coated with multiple layers of black charcoal lacquer, inlaid with abalone shell, gilded with 22-carat gold leaf, intricately engraved with hundreds of fine lines, and finished with a high-quality epoxy resin. It is framed in a black matte frame. It took 150 hours to complete this 17 x 21.6” piece.

FEATURED ARTWORK

BTC BULL MX, 2025 by tructor

Resin, beadwork (Huichol technique), mixed media
35 x 15 cm

This piece, merging ancestral cosmology with the Bitcoin symbol, is inspired by the Wall Street bull and reinterpreted through Wixárika (Huichol) beadwork techniques. Bridging traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary take on decentralization, tructor uses color and form to reflect the idea that Bitcoin is for everyone everywhere.

“Visually, I combine raw, direct expression with symbolic structures influenced by indigenous Mexican art, particularly Wixárika traditions. This creates a dialogue between ancestral knowledge and emerging decentralized systems.” ~ @tructor

WORK IN PROGRESS

He’s at it again! Anik Malcolm has started work on his next masterpiece.

In his words …

“Who’s ready for round TWO!!?
Another set of near-insanity-inducing workload ready to GO!
This time I saved myself a whole month of work by having the manually computer-drawn grid printed onto canvas, and will take it from here with brushes. Slightly different colourway for the client, same trusted mind-blowing mathematics!!”

“The keen observer will no doubt notice that I’m starting from the bottom edge this time, as much was learned in the process of the last painting. More on that another time.”

“Only 9936 painted today, though I’m getting faster as I progress. And remember – this is just the base. Highlights still to be added.”

“13,248 (adds to 9 as usual..) ball bodies boshed in a 10 hour shift. Still need to get faster, but I’ve already reduced 6 rows from 70 minutes down to a best of 45.”

ARTIST QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"Symbology is the most ancient and powerful language in the world. Since the beginning of time symbols were used to tell the truth, free and inspire people and at the same time to tell lies, deceive and control them."
