Biography
About Proof of Paint
Proof of Paint creates Bitcoin art through oil painting, illustration, and limited-edition printed work, with a practice grounded in traditional drawing, close observation, and patient handwork. The artist studied painting and drawing in Italy, became interested in Bitcoin in late 2012, and began accepting illustration commissions for Bitcoin in 2013.
After closing his art studio during the 2021 lockdowns, he returned to making work full time and began developing Proof of Paint as a dedicated project. The practice brings together painting, drawing, and illustration with Bitcoin-focused commissions and independent works, while keeping craftsmanship and careful execution at the center.
Projects have included artwork for Bitcoin Magazine’s Julian Assange issue and a full-spread book cover illustration for Parker Lewis’ "Gradually, Then Suddenly," published by The Saif House. Proof of Paint has also produced original oil painting commissions, limited-edition prints, and a collectible playing-card deck.
Across these formats, the work remains closely tied to traditional painting and drawing methods, using hand-made processes to give Bitcoin-related subjects a clear material form.
