An Artist’s True Freedom Begins Where There Is No Longer A Need To Adapt To Someone Else’s Rules by Lady Redhorns
From the outside, an artist’s path often seems logical. As if it were a series of carefully considered, strategic decisions. And sometimes it really is. You spend years moving toward your goal, making plans, thinking through your next steps. Until one day life forces you to take a sharp turn. Only years later do you realize that this unexpected turn was the most important one.
If someone had told me a few years ago that one day a significant part of my art would be connected with Bitcoin, I probably would not have believed it.
There was a time when my life as an artist was quite ordinary. I participated in exhibitions, worked with galleries, made plans, and looked for new opportunities for my art. Like most artists, I never stopped to think about how much my work depended on the financial infrastructure around me. Bank cards, payment systems, gallery rules, and platform requirements seemed like nothing more than part of an artist’s life. You hardly notice they exist until one day circumstances force you to realize just how much your life depends on them.
For me, those circumstances were my move to Mexico from snowy Siberia. My family and I moved there rather hastily after events that completely changed the lives of millions of people. But along with a new life came a reality that it was impossible to prepare for in advance.
One morning, problems began to pile up one after another.
