Bitchair

Bitchair creates Bitcoin art as functional sculpture, transforming chairs into limited-edition physical works shaped by woodworking, fabrics, embroidery, and custom detailing. The project began in 2022 after years spent reconstructing old chairs and doing woodwork. Its origin came from seeing ordinary seating at Bitcoin conferences and imagining chairs that could bring Bitcoin’s visual language into the physical world. The first BitChair incorporated collected banknotes as part of a concept about Bitcoin overtaking fiat currencies.

Since then, Bitchair has continued developing original chairs intended to function as both furniture and art. The studio states that it creates a new chair each year for the BTC Prague stage. Current editions include BitBlock, a sculptural lounger covered with small colorful squares, and BitLounger, a sculptural lounge chair with soft curves and optional embroidered backing. BitSeat can be ordered with different veneers and fabrics, while custom commissions may include changes in color and embroidered signatures.

Across the practice, Bitchair emphasizes comfort, limited production, craftsmanship, and physical presence. The chair becomes more than a support object, carrying Bitcoin symbolism into furniture designed to be used and lived with. The result is functional Bitcoin art grounded in material construction and the enduring presence of handmade objects.
