About Shamshad
Schatoshi, Shamshad’s son, brings his father's art into physical editions and collaborations, pairing a highly disciplined handwritten practice with carefully chosen materials and formats. The original artwork is created by Schatoshi's father, whose calligraphic technique has been refined over nearly four decades. His father's lifelong mission is to write
the entire Bible, letter by letter, in hand-drawn images - the Bitcoin Whitepaper being a rare departure from that body of work. Schatoshi develops the presentation of these works beyond the original drawings, producing physical editions that preserve the extraordinary density and precision of the handwriting while introducing new scale, surface, and material presence.
The best-known work is "Handwritten Bitcoin Portrait", built entirely from the text of the Bitcoin Whitepaper. The original was handwritten at DIN A3 scale with a 0.15 mm pen. At close range, the individual words remain legible; viewed from a distance, the writing resolves into a larger Bitcoin image. The work has also been presented as a framed fine art print, allowing the minute handwritten structure to be experienced at an expanded physical scale.
Schatoshi has extended his father's imagery into laser-engraved maple wood in multiple sizes and into a limited 22K gold-on-PCB collaboration with Modeotec, a Bitcoin artist who works with PCB boards. These translations give the original drawings a second material life while keeping the father's hand-drawn work at the center of the project.
